Family ties brought her to Clarksville, where she was employed by Banfield Pet Hospital in Clarksville, TN for 14 years. As Chief of Staff of a full-service veterinary hospital, she managed a team of doctors and veterinary assistants devoted to the wellness and preventive care of pets. In addition to mentoring graduating veterinarians, Dr. Tate was involved with the summer internship programs for junior veterinary students and aiding equine rescue organizations with medical triage and fostering. She is currently an adjunct professor of Austin Peay State University, where she instructs senior veterinary technology students in their critical care course of study.

Dr. Tate’s specialties include emergency and critical care medicine, as well as orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries. Her Banfield team received the Quality of Medicine awards for all Tennessee Banfield Pet Hospitals for three years consecutively and she has been previously nominated as a top Tennessee Orthopedic Veterinary Surgeon.

Dr. Tate more recently has developed an interest in geriatric pet medicine with her new goals on pain management with alternative therapies, incorporating weight management protocols, CBD treatments and laser therapy for pets, while continuing to focus on providing fear-free medicine techniques. As a team member of Overwatch Animal Hospital, she is looking forward to expanding on these exciting goals, as well as gaining insightful knowledge into exotic medicine!

In her spare time, Dr. Tate enjoys spending time with her husband, kids, and grandkids, as well as her four dogs and six horses. Her dream goal would be to ride in a dressage competition some day!

Brooke Chandler

Hi there! My name is Brooke and I finished my veterinary assistant program almost 4 years ago. I took a break from working when I had my son and I’m so happy to be back doing what I love! I have 3 dogs of my own, and with the help of my son, they always keep my on my toes. I was born and raised in Georgia, and ended up here in Clarksville as my husband is in the military. I grew up in a rodeo family and have had dogs my entire life so I’m very excited to be working in a clinic that offers exotic care! I’m excited in exploring the exotic world and other animals I haven’t gotten the pleasure to be around until now. I can’t wait to meet you all and your lovely babies!

Brittany Pflieger

Head Receptionist

The military brought Brittany and her husband to Clarksville 12 years ago. Brittany has had an enduring love for all animals since she was a young girl, always taking in stray dogs and even stopping to help escort turtles across the busy roads of Galveston, Texas. She stays active on all local pet pages always trying to make an impact in our community. Brittany looks forward to coming into work everyday, especially if she gets to talk to a new feathery friend. When not working you can catch her watching her two sons play baseball, boating with her husband and caring for her 4 dogs and cat. Her endless smiles help lighten the overall atmosphere at OVAH and we are ecstatic to have her as part of the team!
